WynBay LLEN AGM - Committee Of Management Members 2011
|
|
|
|
The WynBay LLEN AGM was held on Wednesday 25th May at the Louis Joel Arts & Community Centre. The meeting was chaired by Jennie Barrera, CEO Wyndham Community & Education Centre and deputy chair of WynBay LLEN. Jennie spoke about the significant progress made by the LLEN against the current Strategic Plan and thanked the committee and all members for their efforts. Dallian D'Cruz CEO presented the 2010 Annual Report and thanked his staff for their contribution to the LLEN effort. Dora Pyke, Point Cook Manager - Bendigo Bank and WynBay LLEN
treasurer, tabled the audited 2010 financial report. Jennie, in delivering the chair's report, thanked retiring committee members - Mike Kerin (Principal - Bayside College), Mathew Wilson (Manager - Wyndham Youth Resource Centre), Amy Weir (Community Development Manager - Melbourne Water), Susan Young (Victoria University) and Colleen Bergin (CEO YouthNow).
WynBay LLEN would like to welcome the new members of the WynBay LLEN Committee of Management voted in at the AGM.

The Orygen Youth Health Research Centre have developed a new website where young people can jump on and share what treatments have worked for their mental health problems and learn what treatments have worked for others. Paying Attention To Self (PATS)

Paying Attention To Self (PATS) is a peer support group for teenagers aged 13-18 years, who have a parent who is affected by a mental illness. The group aims to give young people the opportunity to meet other teenagers who have similar experiences, to learn more about mental health and illness, to explore ways of coping, and to have some time out and fun!! An 8 week group will be run during term three 2011.
When: Thursdays 28 July - 15 September 5-7pm
Where: Visy Cares Hub, Sunshine

LifeMoves - provided by ‘peers inspiring peers’ in partnership with BrainLink. LifeMoves is an 8 week structured peer support programme that empowers people with acquired neurological conditions. It has been a service of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Park Campus from 2002-2009. Now delivered by the not-for-profit organisation Peers Inspiring Peers, LifeMoves is expanding to reach more people across a wider geographical area. For more details, please click here.

Stand UP! 4 Rights is a Comedy Project aimed at creating dialogue with young people around race and discrimination. To create spaces which skin colour, culture and experiences can be talked about in different ways through comedy without negative implications. The Stand UP! 4 Rights project is uniquely designed so the comedy material is be created by Young People, performed with Young People and shown to other Young People.
