The BIG Group

The BIG (Business Industry Group) is a new business/industry network being brokered by WynBay LLEN. It will comprise over 17members drawn from business and industry groups representing the building/construction, automotive, engineering, hospitality, retail and electrotechnology sectors. The BIG network is unique because it is the only business and industry network specifically aimed at improving work placement and training opportunities for young people in Wyndham and Hobsons Bay. The BIG aims to address some of the challenges and barriers to creating more work experience, placement, training and employment opportunities by building more effective partnerships between schools, business and other stakeholders. The BIG group shall focus on the operational systems and procedures within entities as well as being a reference and advisory body on such aspects.

The establishment of the BIG group is being assisted by WynBay LLEN contracted consultant Shirlene Stowe-Winder. Shirlene commenced work on the project in March 2011. BIG shall convene for the first meeting in June 2011 and will thereafter meet once a term or 4 times a year. If you are a business stakeholder and would like to know more about the BIG network, please contact Shirlene via admin@wynbayllen.org.au.
